Surface Preparation and Precautions

To ensure the best results with Decor Colors Total Solution Liquid Rubber Paint, follow these preparation and care steps during application:

1. Surface Cleaning:
   • Remove all loose particles such as mold, mildew, old paint, textures, or any carbonation until you reach a firm and clean surface.
   • On galvanized surfaces, use a neutral detergent or degreaser.
2. Proper Mixing:
   • Stir the product well before and during application to ensure uniform color and coverage.
3. Weather Conditions:
   • Avoid applying liquid rubber paint on rainy days, in strong winds, or at temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
   • The ideal humidity level should be below 90%.
4. Application:
   • Use a low-pile wool roller, brushes, or an airless sprayer.
   • Apply the liquid rubber paint evenly, avoiding excessive overlapping and touch-ups after drying.
   • Do not stop application in the middle of a surface.
5. Rain Precautions:
   • Up to two weeks after application, rain droplets may stain the surface. If this occurs, wash the area immediately with water.
   • Intense colors are more susceptible to staining and may change over time due to UV exposure and weather conditions.
6. Recommended Surfaces:
   • Liquid rubber paint is ideal for roofs, slabs, exterior walls, gutters, and other surfaces such as masonry, concrete, and fiber cement, providing long-lasting waterproofing.
7. Dilution and Coats:
   • For cement surfaces, dilute the first coat with up to 20% potable water.
   • For subsequent coats, use a 10% dilution.
   • The ideal number of coats is three, adjusting according to surface conditions.
8. Coverage and Drying Time:
   • Touch dry: 2 hours
   • Between coats: 4 hours
   • Fully cured: 12 hours after the last application
9. Storage:
   • Store liquid rubber paint in a location with a room temperature of up to 77°F (25°C) to prevent changes in its properties.
